Pace therapists have current knowledge, skills and experience in specialized areas in which they practice. At Pace we are able to offer specific services to special needs populations including:

Geriatrics
Pace therapists recognize and are responsive to the unique needs of the ageing population. Interventions are focused on assisting with and compensating for issues impacting on function and safety. The ultimate goal is to enable the aging client to live as independently and safely as possible in their own home

ABI
Clients with injuries to the brain experience complex challenges to daily living. Our therapists develop individual programs which assist the client and caregivers to acquire the knowledge, skills and resources needed to develop their functional and social skills, thereby enabling the client to lead as independent and productive lives as possible.

Palliative
A holistic and compassionate approach is used to address the physical, functional and psychosocial needs of the client and their family during this most difficult time. Our therapists focus on enhancing comfort and quality of life. The grieving process is recognized as an essential component to palliative care and support is provided to both the client and their families.

Paediatrics
Assistance and therapy in Paediatrics is primarily aimed at enhancing skills in all areas of child development. The main areas are in improving physical, cognitive and psycho-social skills.

School Health
Children may experience difficulties in learning in the classroom. These difficulties can be related to issues such as attention, and fine and gross motor control. Pace therapists will work to remedy the problems which specifically impact the child’s ability to learn.

Mental Health
Clients with mental health issues are faced with many challenges to daily living. Our therapists collaborate to develop care plans which assist clients to acquire the functional skills, social skills and resources to resume daily living activities.

Seating and Mobility
Many individuals experience a loss of mobility which adversely impacts on their lifestyle. Mobility and seating assessments focus on the prescription of appropriate equipment to optimize mobility and posture.
